Description

Attending the inaugural ceremonies for Doctor William R. White, who was installed as the seventh president of Hardin-Simmons University, were, left to right, J. D. Sandefer Junior, Doctor White, Doctor W. W. Hamilton, president of the Southern Baptist Convention, Doctor Umphrey Lee, president of Southern Methodist University, and Mrs. O. H. Cooper, widow of the fifth president of Hardin-Simmons. They are shown walking down a sidewalk. The men are wearing caps and gowns and Mrs. Cooper is wearing a long coat with a flower pinned to the lapel and a hat. Beside the group, at the right, is a road with parked cars along each side.
