The girls' Class D relay team of Polytechnic Elementary School pictured just after they set a new record of 2:19 in the elementary track meet at Farrington Field. The team members are, left to right, first row: Patricia Brandt, Evelyn Culp, Jeannine Hetto, Nancy Enlow, Patsy Brit, Joyce Atkinson; (second row, left to right) Betty Jo Dearing, Artie Fae Brooks, Joan Averitt, Marjorie McManus, Betty Kelly, Roxie Brooks; (third row, left to right) Norma McGuire, Grace Harris, Betty Alice Messer, Edith Gray, Bettie Jo Coke and Doris Doley. The girls are all wearing matching track uniforms; dark running shorts with short-sleeve, v-neck shirts. Most of the girls have their hands up in the air. Behind the group, the rest of the athletic field and race track can be seen.
