Description

Howard Pope, Texas Christian University (T. C. U.) compact dash star, shown winning the 100-yard dash at the T. C. U.-Baylor University track meet. Mr. Pope is shown in the midst of running across the finish line of the race. He is shirtless, only wearing a pair of running shorts and track shoes. Behind him is his unnamed competitor who is close behind. Standing on the side of the track are several spectators. Most are wearing trousers with buttoned-up shirts tucked in. Mr. Pope also won the 220-yard dash, ran both relays and was second in the high jump.
