Description
Miss Ruth Martin operating a sewing machine that makes the buttonholes for the army pants produced by the Williams-Dickie Manufacturing Company. J. B. Copeland, an engineer, is standing beside her, inspecting the operation of the machine. The two employees are surrounded by several machines and spools of thread. Miss Martin is wearing a short-sleeve dress and Mr. Copeland is wearing a short-sleeve, striped shirt, a tie and eyeglasses. Behind them are other women working with similar machines. The manufacturing company produces approximately 6,000 pairs of army pants daily.
