George D. Batson, playwright, shaking hands with the leading lady of his play "Treat Her Gently,", Ruth Chatterton. Mr. Batson is wearing a dark, double-breasted suit and Miss Chatterton is wearing her costume: a wide-brimmed hat adorned with a large feather, a long-sleeve dress and a coat. She is holding her gloves and purse in her other hand. Mr. Batson's play was performed at the Majestic Theatre in Fort Worth, Texas.
