Description
Image shows Five year old Sandra Ann Leach is sitting on the arm of a chair with a unique history. Harry Jackson, a snake man at Forest Park Zoo made the chair from the teak wood crate in which "Penny," the baby elephant was brought into the country from India. The upholstery was made from elephant "Sugar," who was killed in July after attacking Mr. Jackson. The chair is on display at Forest Park Zoo. Sandra Ann is wearing a sailor dress. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition February 18, 1941.
