Description

Richard Menchacha, of Port Arthur, Texas, won the bantamweight title at the Chicago Golden Gloves in 1940. He is shown standing next to a juke box in a Fort Worth, Texas, restaurant. Menchacha is now a cadet at Allen Military Academy in Bryan, Texas. He will compete in the 1941 Texas Golden Gloves state meet held at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum. Menchacha is wearing his cadet uniform and hat, and a coat.
