Description
Camp Barkeley is being constructed in Abilene, Texas to train the 45th Infantry Division of the United States Army. Building crews are working quickly to make the camp ready for the March opening. Active leaders of the construction race are left to right, Marvin C. Nichols, Major Richard E. Froiseth, and Thomas S. Byrne. Mr. Nichols, of Fort Worth, Texas, is the architectural engineer in charge of the project. He is dressed in a double breasted pinstripe suit. Major Froiseth. is the construction quartermaster, He is wearing his military uniform. Mr. Byrne is the general manager and a member of the contracting organization of Taylor, Byrne, and Briggs. Mr. Byrne is dressed in a three piece suit. Major Froiseth's desk is covered by an "out tray", pen set, notebook, and a map.
