Personnel at Camp Wolters are busy building and preparing for its opening as a replacement center for selective service trainees. Discussing a camp site left to right are Major Irving Compton, Captain Philip W. Mallory, and Major W. H. McKee. Major Compton is the executive officer of the 8th Training Battalion. He is sitting at the table dressed in his military uniform. Captain Mallory is with the Medical Corporation. He is standing behind the men, dressed in his military uniform. Major McKee is the post adjutant. He is pointing at the map, wearing his military uniform. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition, February 7, 1941.
