Description
Fort Worth, Texas is hosting one of the President's Birthday Balls to benefit the infantile paralysis (polio) campaign. Pictured is sixteen year old polio patient, Bobby Gant. He lives with his grandmother, Mrs. L. W. Jones and attends North Side High School. As one of the beneficiaries of the Birthday Ball, Bobby now has a wheelchair to take him from classroom to classroom. He is dressed in a fedora, collared shirt, necktie, sweater, leather jacket, and trousers. A notebook is sitting on his lap. The exterior of the school is in the background.
