Description
Amateur boxers are competing in the Golden Gloves District Tournament at the Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. Defending his 1940 Welterweight District Championship is C. R. Jordan. The former North Side High School student will carry the hopes of the North Side when he competes. He is employed at the Armour Company and is sponsored by the Armour Social Club. Jordan is shown sporting his sponsor's dressing robe. He is recovering from a cut over his left eye, which he suffered in a bout nine days earlier. Despite the injury, Jordan is ready to defend his title.
