    Description

    The President's Birthday Ball will be held in Fort Worth, Texas on the night of January 30th. J. J. Hurley is holding tickets to the Birthday Ball as the girls draw straws for the right to buy the first one. The girls are left to right Betty Trammell, May Parchman, Doris Bridges, and Claudia Dickson. Mr. Hurley is the county chairman of the celebration. He is dressed in a double breasted pinstripe suit. The girls each represent a location of the dance and a branch of the military. Miss Trammell works at the Blackstone Hotel and represents the Army. She is wearing a hat and a coat. Miss Parchman represents the Lake Worth Casino and the Navy. She is dressed in a hat and a fur coat. Miss Bridges works at the Hotel Texas and represents the Marines. She is wearing a trench coat, tied at the waist. Miss Dickson is representing the Pioneer Palace and the Air Corps. She is dressed in a cowboy hat, western blouse, bandanna, and a striped skirt.
