Description
Baseball player Debs Garms is spending the off-season on his 276-acre farm, relaxing with his family and tending the farm. Garms is a left-handed hitting third basemen. He spent four seasons with the St. Louis Browns, three seasons with the Boston Bees, and the 1940 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates. With the Pirates, Garms hit for a.355 average and won a batting title. He is shown fixing the barbed-wire fences around his property line. His stocky cow pony is saddled in the background. Farm life keeps the agile third-basemen in good shape during the off-season. He is wearing a cowboy hat, plaid shirt, leather jacket, trousers, cowboy boots, and gloves.
