Jackie Reid, left, of the Shreveport Sports, and Cecil Coombs, business manager of the Fort Worth Cats, looking at a miniature batting cage at the La Grave Field offices of the Fort Worth, Texas baseball club. They are squatting on the ground beside the batting cage. Mr. Reid is wearing a suit and is holding a pair of gloves in his right hand. Mr. Coombs is wearing a long-sleeve collared shirt, a necktie, a vest and trousers. The batting cage was designed by Ezra Bland, the Cats' groundskeeper. Hanging on the back wall, at left, is a map of the United States.
