Description

A tragic drama of runaway marriage ended with the groom's death on Friday, January 10th. Virginia Ruth Brewer Cox, fourteen, married nineteen year old H. G. Cox in Fort Worth, Texas Monday night. The bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl T. Brewer, learned of the marriage by postcard, and immediately drove to the city from Ector, Texas. A scuffle broke out between Mr. Brewer and Mr. Cox and the father stabbed the groom in the throat with a pocket knife. The Brewer Murder Trial is being held in Tarrant County, Texas. Sitting on a bench with her arms folded is the young widow, Mrs. Cox. She is wearing a polka-dot dress and a coat.
