    Description

    Atwood McDonald, right, is shown taking his oath of office as chief justice of the Second Court of Civil Appeals. Allen Crowley, attorney and long-time friend of the new chief justice, is administering the oath at the left. Judge McDonald is filling the chair of retiring Chief Justice Irby Dunklin, who has been judge of the court for 32 years. Judge McDonald will be on the bench with Associate Justices Brown and Speer. Mr. Crowley is wearing a pinstripe suit. Judge McDonald is dressed in a double breasted suit. There is a photograph on the wall depicting the portraits of the "Bench and Bar of Texas, 1919."
