Description
The beautifully decorated Christmas tree in the auditorium of the Hemphill Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth. Tree made orphans' eyes shine. Children of the Reynolds Orphans Home in Dallas stood with eyes shining in wonderment as they beheld this realistically decorated tree. The pine was sprayed with starch and covered with powdered mica to give the effect of a snow-laden tree in the forest. The Men's Bible Class provided the tree and Couples' Class decorated it. The children were given a special offering of more than $100 and a truckload of groceries and toys during their annual visit to the church. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Evening Edition January 1. 1941.
