Description
This is a half-length portrait of Mrs. Lota Litmer, president of the Soroptimist Club. The theme of the club is "Economic Advancement for Women". Miss Esther Irene West, national representative of the Y.M.C.A., spoke at the club's meetings meeting at Hotel Texas. She told members of the club that their theme is one which can go far in tomorrow's world, and which would change the status of women in other countries could it be their good fortune to feel its influence. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition, January 23, 1940.
