He'll shoulder more duties. Sutton to relieve McIlvain during year's Army service. Charles E. Sutton will be division manager of the Gulf Coast district, including Venezuelan operations for the Pure Oil Company. He is relieving R. W. McIlvain Jr., Texas division manager who leaves Wednesday for a year’s active service with the Fifty-fourth Cavalry Brigade. Sutton plans to spend about three days of each week in Fort Worth with the remainder in Houston, also during off moments, he will supervise Pure oil activities in Venezuela. Sutton was born in Montana, graduated from the University of California in 1918 with a civil engineering degree. He previously worked with the Federal Bureau of Mines before joining Pure in 1927.
