All-American Rodeo and Horse Show Rodeo Queen contestants stand behind the barbecue carving table. They are from (left to right) Doris Gene Hoel, Clifton, Texas; Doris Jean Russell, Spearman, Texas; Laura Mae Klinglesmith (behind others and almost hidden), Valley Mills, Texas; Jeane Burnham, Mount Calm, Texas; and Doris Garner, Quanah, Texas. On each end of the table, cutting up the buffalo barbecue are F. C. Padget, Amarillo (left) with a butcher knife and (right) John C. Whiting, Fort Worth, Texas, and Pab Babb, Amarillo, Texas. with the narrow knife. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, November 17, 1940.
