Texas National Guardsman Private Claude P. Morgan veteran member of Company B., 144th Infantry, bidding his wife and children, Patsy Gene, 5, and Claudia Ann, 19 months, goodbye. Mrs. Morgan is holding Claudia Ann in her arms while standing on the top steps of the house's porch. Private Morgan is wearing full uniform and holding a rifle and is extending his hand to hold his wife's. Patsy Gene stands on a pillar behind her mother.
