A Goodbye for the Teacher -- Officers of the high sixth grade of Oakhurst Elementary School stopped by their teacher's desk to say goodbye Thursday night before going to the auditorium for their promotion exercises. Left to right are Sarah Ellis, vice president; Patsy Landrum, president; Ralph Payne, teacher (seated); Barbara Smith, secretary, and Bill Agerton, treasurer. The class next week will enter Riverside Junior High School. The school children are standing around their teacher, who is sitting at a desk. The girls are wearing dresses and Bill is wearing a collared shirt, sweater and trousers. Mr. Payne is wearing a suit. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, January 19, 1940.
