Takes Selective Service Board Oath -- Melvin J. Miller, Fort Worth insurance man, takes the oath of office that he will faithfully discharge his duties on one of the eight selective service boards in Tarrant County. A business partner and notary public, E. D. Rutledge, gives the oath. Other 23 newly selected board members also took their oaths of office Wednesday. Mr. Miller (right) and Mr. Rutledge are pictured here. Mr. Miller is wearing eyeglasses and a double breasted striped suit with a pocket square. Mr. Rutledge is dressed in a double breasted pinstripe suit. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, October 9, 1940.
