Champions of Fort Worth 1940 softball season are (back row, left to right) R. L. Frye of Brewley Mills with trophy awarded by Leonard Brothers, Red Teague, Roy Bales, Delmer Murray, Hathaway Davis, and E. N. Williams of Venetian Blinds with trophy awarded by the Recreation Department; (middle row, left to right) F. N. Hubbard, Johnny Stovall, Lee Keathley, Clifton Jacobs and Done Frye, (bottom row, left to right) Truman Terrell, W. C. Ray, Ernest Arnold and Rusty Burns. This group of boys represented Bewley Mills and won the city championship, then under the sponsorship of Venetian Blinds, entered the Recreation Department's first annual Fall tournament and won it. Published on October 2, 1940.
