Description
Byron "Santone" Townsend is a junior letterman of the Odessa High School football team. He is a 175-pound back for the Bronchos and one of the top scores in the state. Odessa is in the midst of a perfect season. They have yet to commit a turnover or lose a game. They are in Fort Worth, Texas to face the Witchita Falls Coyotes. The winner will advance to the state semi-finals. Townsend is shown running the ball practicing hurdling and stiff arming defenders. The Odessa Bronchos went on to have a perfect 14-0 season and win the 1946 Texas State Championship.
