Description
Copy of portrait photograph of Second Lieutenant (Lt.) Bob M. White. A man is wearing headphones and a hat on his head. The headphones are not on his ears but above his ears. Lieutenant (Lt.) White, son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy White, reported missing in action March 18, is known now to have died at the controls of his Liberator while attempting to bring the crippled ship back from a raid over Southern Germany. He had been recommended for the Air Medal. His widow, the former Miss Billye Holland, has received her husband's Purple Heart. She has also been advised that Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) will be awarded posthumously in recognition of his last gallant though unsuccessful action.
