Description

Competing in the Glen Garden Golf Club Invitation Tournament are left to right, Douglas Higgins and J. R. Taylor. Mr. Higgins won a tight, 36-hole match, 1-up on Mr. Taylor Mr. Higgins was the Fort Worth, Texas, junior champion in 1942. He can credit his recent victory to his short game, after his woods and drives mostly found the rough. He was two down when the match hit the 16th hole. He sunk a couple of long putts during the last stretch. The men are standing on the green, each with a golf club in their hands. Mr. Higgins is wearing a striped t-shirt and trousers. Mr. Taylor is dressed in a button-up shirt and trousers. There is a flag behind the men.
