Sergeant J. R. Kennedy, decorated posthumously. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Kennedy of Bonham, Texas have received the Purple Heart awarded to their son. Sgt. Kennedy was killed in action with a field artillery unit of the 36th Division on the Cassino front in Italy on March 16, 1944.A photo of Sgt. Kennedy wearing a hat is pinned to a board.
