Miss Frances Ward, of 1008 Penn Street, Fort Worth, Texas, is joining the Women's Army Corps. She will be the fourth member of her family serving in the armed forces. Three of her brothers are currently serving in the United States armed forces, one overseas. The brothers are Corporal (Corp.) Billy Joe Ward, Fort Myers, Florida; Staff Sergeant (Sgt.) Durell Ward, in Ireland; and Sergeant (Sgt.) J. B. Ward, Camp Edwards, Massachusetts. Their parents are Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Ward. Miss Ward is a graduate of Rogers High School and attended Texas Wesleyan College (TWC) for two years. Before enlisting, Miss Ward was a junior claim agent at Montgomery Ward & Company. She is shown dressed in a collared blouse and a blazer. This photograph is a copy of her portrait. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, January 24, 1944.
