Guardettes. Front, left to right, Margie Rae, Genise Calvert, Bertha Raines, Delphia Fellers; back l to r, Hazel Gillespie, Vela Shockey, Geneve Grimes, Mary Bell Padgett. Seven women in view (one obscured by the front row) are wearing military skirt and jacket uniform with a light blouse and dark solid color tie, wide belt, and dark walking shoes. They're each wearing a garrison cap and carrying a wooden marching rifle. They are marching in a gravel and grass area beside a building clad in corrugated iron siding and roof. On the very far right a woman in the identical uniform is shielding her eyes from the sun and watching the marchers. Clipping: "'Forward, March!
