Joe Turner, demonstrated his ability to turn sharply in this picture. The Weatherford boy, an elusive fellow, is expected to be one of Texas Wesleyan College's most dangerous football players. Mr. Turner is wearing his full uniform with a jersey with the number "21" on it over his shoulder pads, padded pants, cleats, and a helmet. He is standing in a field at a sharp angle, leaning heavily to his right, with a football in his right hand and his left arm outstretched. Star-Telegram Morning, September 15 1940.
