Lieutenant R. B. Tate (left) and Elton Barton are shown with the champion steer at the Houston Fat Stock Show. The steer is owned by Warren Barton of Sweetwater, Texas. Tate and Warren are shown standing behind the large steer and looking forward. Tate is wearing a military uniform and Warren is wearing a cowboy hat and a jacket. On the steer, there is a sign draped over it which names it the grand champion of the stock show. Behind the scene is a fence with a variety of chairs behind it. A few other men can be seen looking on.
