Texas Christian University football players, left to right they are Junior Phil Roach (left), brother of Walter, and Connie Sparks, the veteran fullback. Both scale around 193 pounds and are fine pass receivers. The two men are wearing uniforms with jerseys over their shoulder pads, Roach has the number "25" on his jersey while Sparks has number "51" on his, padded pants with their jersey numbers imprinted on them, cleats and helmets. They are standing in a field and inspecting a football that Sparks is holding. Star-Telegram Evening, September 13 1940.
