Drilling started on a new Hidalgo County wildcat, the Arkansas Fuel Oil Company Number 1 J. B. Heard. Scenes around Denton County's Deep Wildcat Test. Ben Wilmut is driller on the deep wildcat which is bottomed at 5,633 feet in the Ellenburger, Lower Ordovician section. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition, December 28, 1941.
