Description
Reverend Joe Scheumack while he was on trial for an anti-noise ordinance violation charge. He is wearing a suit. He is holding a Bible and a copy of the United States Constitution in his left hand and is standing beside the amplifying system used at Berry Street Baptist Church, where he is the pastor. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil E. Mallow (not pictured) filed the noise complaint against the church. Judge Gilmartin (not pictured) presided over the trial that ended in a hung jury. An unidentified man wearing a suit is standing in the background, at right.
