Description
Here's Clinton Russell, blind golfer from Duluth, Minnesota, attempting a nine-foot putt for a bogey-four on the eighth hole of his match with Marvin Shannon of Fort Worth for the Blind Golfer's title at Rockwood Park Golf Course, Sunday. Jimmy Koehler (crouching), Russell's adviser from Duluth, has just sighted the putt. Russell missed the putt by inches and Shannon won with a four to go five up. In the back is Shannon, second from the right, talking to instructor Skeet Fincher. There is a crowd watching in the background held off the green by a rope fence. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 27, 1941.
