Description

When Mr. and Mrs. Mans Hoggett of Mertzon started to gather rocks from their ranch property to build a home, friends in all parts of the country wanted to contribute to the collection. Soon huge rocks started rolling in. Today, a beautifully constructed home is the result. The home, located in Mertzon, is a long structure that has a screened-in porch, living room, dining room, three bedrooms, kitchen, den and two baths—and all conveniences found in the city home. Rustic beauty marks this 37 feet by 72 feet rock-veneered structure just completed on the Mans Mertzon ranch. It is of native rock. The same rock that appears on the exterior of the house appears to be the same on the fire place, that helps to heat the home. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram Sunday Edition May 11, 1941.
