Description
When Mr. and Mrs. Mans Hoggett of Mertzon started to gather rocks from their ranch property to build a home, friends in all parts of the country wanted to contribute to the collection. Soon huge rocks started rolling in. Today, a beautifully constructed home is the result. The home, located in Mertzon, is a long structure that has a screened-in porch, living room, dining room, three bedrooms, kitchen, den and two bathsâ€â€and all conveniences found in the city home. Rustic beauty marks this 37 feet by 72 feet rock-veneered structure just completed on the Mans Mertzon ranch. It is of native rock. The house has a screened in porch in the middle of the house, capping each end of the porch are wings with the rock-veneer and double windows. On the left hand side of the house the exterior of fireplace, also covered with a rock-veneer is seen. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram Sunday Edition May 11, 1941.
