Description
Keesey Kimball, of Alpine, Texas, with his reserve champion calf at the 1941 Southwestern Exposition Livestock Show at El Paso, Texas. Keesey is standing in front of the calf and holding onto its lead. He is wearing a cowboy hat, a collared shirt, trousers and boots. The steer, which was also the first prize weighty steer of the show, has primarily dark hair and its face and underbelly are a lighter color. The steer was bred by Kimball & Son, Alpine, Texas, ranchers. In the background are people walking around the stockyards, and at the far right is a parked car.
