Description
Army Captain (Capt.) William E. Lockhart, left, and his son, Second Lieutenant Vincent M. Lockhart are pictured here. Company F of the One Hundred and Forty-second Infantry boasts them who are one of the few father and son combinations. Both officers are wearing uniforms, hats, and glasses and sitting against a wall. Captain Lickhart, a professor of business administration at West Texas State Teachers College for 20 years, has commanded Company F, Canyon, Texas, 10 years. Lieutenant Lockhart served in the Texas National Guard 8 years. He received a year's leave of absence from the Amarillo Globe-News, where he was an editorial staff member, to accompany the company to Brownwood, Texas. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 12, 1940.
