    Description

    Four Men of Company A, One Hundred and Forty-second Infantry, Brownwood, are pictured here. They are from left to right, Privates (Pvts.) B. W. Wallis and J. B. Adams, Private First Class Al Carter and Corporal (Corp.) John J. Mahoney. The four soldiers are kneeling with their guns raised, waiting for the order to fire. Directing the firing practice is Sergeant (Sergt.) William H. Pruitt, standing directly behind them. A number of other soldiers are standing behind them, everyone is wearing uniforms and hats. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 6, 1940.
