Feeders from the Corn Belt States and livestock admirers in general are traveling a long distance to attend the annual Highland Hereford Feeder Cattle Show in Marfa, Texas. Bobette MacKenzie is shown draped in an American flag, wearing a bonnet, dress, and shawl. She is riding on the first prize float she entered in the opening parade by the Marfa History Club. Miss MacKenzie is the daughter of Lieutenant Colonel Bertram M. Frankenberger, commander of Fort D. A. Russell. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 8, 1940.
