Description
Two of the paintings on display in the first exhibition of the Allied Artists Club which are included in the show opening Sunday in the studios of Sallie Gillespie, 1100 Lipscomb Street. They are a figure painting done by Miss Gillespie during her Summer holidays in Taos, New Mexico, and a landscape which is the work of Pattie East who spent a Summer vacation in Old Mexico and brought back several oil landscapes of that country. In this picture, is the figure painting done by Miss Gillespie. In the painting a women is sitting on a box wearing several layers of clothes and blankets. There is a striped blanket in the background of the painting hanging in the corner. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 27, 1940.
