Jess Slaughter Junior, of Big Spring, Texas, shown with the quarter horse "Punkin," which was first in the gelding class at the horse show at the Texas Cowboy Reunion at Stamford, Texas. The event was the first official show held by the American Quarter Horse Association. Jess is wearing a long-sleeve shirt, trousers and a cowboy hat.
