The Texas Chess Association is holding a three day chess tournament at the Hotel Texas. Mrs. Irvan Walker of Tyler, Texas, is the only woman who registered for the contest. Others in the picture left to right are, Ivy L. Hart, Dr. A. L. Strout, and John Ramey. Mr. Hart, of Plainview, Texas, is facing off against Mrs. Walker. He is dressed in a striped collared shirt. Mrs. Walker is wearing a button-up dress with a brooch and a necklace. Dr. Strout, of Lubbock, Texas, is dressed in a suit. Mr. Ramey, of Brownwood., Texas, is wearing a button-up shirt and trousers. He has a pencil tucked behind his ear.
