On their mark to sell season ticket books to 1940-41 Footlite Club attractions, left to right: Miss Maybell Criner, Bob Hamilton, Charles Tate, Jimmy Birdwell, and Code Edwards, team captains; Curtis Thomas and I.E. McWhirter, who are pledged to sell 86 books apeice, and Ed Eckert, president, cracking the whip. Each five-member team has a goal of 100 books to sell by October 1, and the winner will be honored with a party. The dramatic club is sponsored by the Co-Workers Class of First United Methodist Church, of which McWhirter is teacher, and proceeds from the plays go to church work. This will begin its eleventh season. All members but the president, Ed Eckert, can be seen on a piece of sports/leisure equipment: a bicycle, a scooter, a tricycle, roller skates, a sled, a toy tractor, and a rocking horse.
