Description
Ben Tompkins, Polytechnic High School (38), Bynum Smith, Crozier Technical High School, the Parrots' Luther Scarborough (43) and Wolves' Jerry Champion (5) head for free ball in bi-district championship game played at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum. Crozier Tech won, 30-20, to earn state meet berth. There are other unidentified players on the court and all the players are wearing their school's jersey, sock with sneakers and some players have knee pads. The tip of the basketball net is hanging down at the top of the picture. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, February 28, 1948.
