Description
Reverend Edward F. Murphy, Josephite priest, novelist, and professor. In the picture, the reverend is sitting on a chair in clergy clothes and wears glasses, in front of a wall with floral patters. He has his hands folded on each other. He is the Dean of philosophy at Xavier University, New Orleans, and here to promote his second novel, "Pere Antoine" which he will review Thursday in the Public Library Lecture Hall. He had written seven books before he turned to the novel. The first novel, "The Scarlet Lily", a story of Mary Magdalene sold 150,00 copies. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, march 27, 1947.
