Description

Medearis Hemby, radio operator on a crippled XB-36 bomber airplane who parachuted to safety, in the St. Joseph's hospital with his wife at his bedside. In the picture Mr. Hemby's wife is giving him a sip of water with a straw while he lays on the hospital bed covered in the bed sheet. Mrs. Hemby is leaning on the beside rail and she is wearing a jacket on top of her dress. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, March 27, 1947.
