Side by side, the gaudy new T&P Diesel outshines the old type locomotive. The Diesel took the Sunshine Special to St. Louis soon after it was brought here Monday afternoon from El Paso by the old type locomotive. Shown are the new Texas and Pacific diesel engine (left) and the old type locomotive on the right. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram Morning Edition March 18, 1947.
